Symptoms of Fibroids
Many women with fibroids have no symptoms at all. The location, size, and number of fibroids can affect symptoms in persons who have them.
The following are the most prevalent indications and symptoms of uterine fibroids in women who have them:
- Menstrual bleeding is really heavy

Causes of Fibroids

- Hormonal Imbalance: Fibroids have a higher number of estrogen and progesterone receptors than uterine muscle cells. Due to a decrease in hormone production, fibroids tend to diminish after menopause.
- Other Growth Factors: Insulin-like growth factors and other substances that aid in tissue maintenance may have an impact on fibroid growth.
- Matrix Found Outside of Cells (ECM): ECM is the substance that holds cells together, similar to mortar between bricks. Fibroids have an increase in ECM, which makes them fibrous. Growth factors are also stored in the ECM, which induces biological changes in the cells.
Diagnosis
During a normal pelvic exam, uterine fibroids are frequently discovered by chance. Your doctor may notice changes in the shape of your uterus, which could indicate the presence of fibroids.

- USG: Your doctor may order an ultrasound if further confirmation is required.
